Astronergy supplies solar technology for 3 MW Tennessee utility projects
Chint Group subsidiary Astronergy, also known as Chint Solar, has provided about 12,700 modules for use in several utility scale projects in Tennessee. The first four of the projects, which were 750 kW ground mounted systems, were commissioned at the beginning of November 2011 in Fayetteville,Tennessee.
The four systems are capable of producing 4.23 GWh per year. The system’s solar energy will be purchased by the Tennessee Valley Authority through its Generation Partners Program.
Sungevity acquires equity stake in Dutch solar firm
Sungevity Inc. has acquired an equity stake in new Dutch solar company, Zonline. Through the partnership, Sungevity will provide Zonline with its proprietary software tools, including the company’s remote solar design services and brand identity assets.
The agreement between the two companies, which will be effective November 25, 2011, makes Sungevity the firstU.S.residential solar company to expand internationally and serves as a proof point of the company’s highly efficient, growth model.
Santa Clara University’s student center gets LEED Gold certification
The U.S. Green Building Council has awarded the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold certification to Santa Clara University’s Paul Locatell iStudent Activity Center. The award recognizes the efficient use of energy and resources during the construction and operation of the 16,284-square-foot student center.
