Honeywell, Sinochem team up for energy efficient project in China
Honeywell and Sinochem Group have signed an agreement to form a 50/50 joint venture to produce and sell blowing agents for energy efficient foam insulation in China to to meet growing demand in the Asia region for more energy efficient and environmentally friendlier materials. The joint venture is subject to Chinese government approval.
The joint venture, to be located in Taicang , Jiangsu Province, will produce HFC-245fa, a non-ozone-depleting rigid foam blowing agent used in insulation for appliances, construction, transportation and other applications where maximum energy efficiency is required. The venture is expected to begin production in late 2013.
ONYX to build solar project for Caribbean resort
Onyx Service & Solutions Inc. has executed a letter of intent to construct a second solar project forRoatan,Honduras. The project calls for constructing a solar power project that will power West Bay Lodge Resort – which is located at the famousWestBayBeach. ONYX is also currently developing a very large 18.5 MW solar power project in central Roatan.
Yingli Green Energy sets new and improved warranty terms
Yingli Green Energy Holding Co. has announced new and improved limited warranties for its product line of reliable and bankable photovoltaic modules. High performance monocrystalline Panda PV modules will feature a standard power performance warranty that guarantees 98% of nameplate power for the first year, 92% of nameplate power for 10 years and 82% of nameplate power for a period of 25 years. Multicrystalline PV modules will feature a standard power performance warranty that guarantees 91.2% of nameplate power for 10 years and 80.7% of nameplate power for a period of 25 years.
In addition, a linear-based extended warranty that guarantees power output for each year of the 25-year warranty period is made available by the company. The company has extended its limited product warranty from five to 10 years for all of its PV module products. The new warranties have been valid for PV modules shipped from Yingli factories effective October 1st, 2011.
KGAL GmbH acquires 33-MW of solar systems from SunEdison
KGAL GmbH & Co. has acquired 33 MW of solar photovoltaic systems inItalyandSpainfrom MEMC Electronic Materials subsidiary SunEdison. The total of 12 projects with a total installed capacity of 53 MW, will be monitored, maintained and operated by SunEdison under long-term agreements. The solar portfolio acquired by KGAL has been developed by SunEdison’s utility scale projects division. SunEdison is also present in other two strategic business areas in the European market, including commercial rooftops and residential solutions.
