PSE&G Ranked 2nd For Solar Energy Capacity

According to the Solar Electric Power Association (SEPA), Public Service Electric & Gas (PSE&G) had the second most solar capacity of any American utility added to its electric system and ninth in the amount of solar capacity installed  in 2011. Last year, 181 solar megawatts were added in PSE&G’s service territory, which is 142 percent higher compared to 2010. PSE&G was happy with this result because it means that there are environmental benefits from their services.

Solar Energy in Carson City Wastewater Reclamation

The Wastewater Reclamation Facitily in Carson City, Nevada is now using solar energy, using photovoltaic solar panels, for its electric needs. The panels are expected to annually generate about 540,000 kilowatt hours of electricity enough to power 60 homes. This shift to solar energy will reduce the city’s carbon emissions by approximately 400 tons per year.

Solar Energy in Western Nevada College

Two hundred kilowatt solar panels were installed at Western Nevada College (WNC) in Carson City to reduce the college’s power bills About 360,000-kilowatt hours of electricity can be produced annually from these photovoltaic solar panels.  This is the largest solar project that’s been installed at a Nevada college.

Germany Still No. 1 in Green Revolution
