Wisconsin Utilities Launched New Energy Efficiency Programs

Wisconsin utilities’ statewide program for efficient and renewable energy, Focus on Energy, has launched new programs for residential and business establishments. For the residential programs, there are two: the New Homes Program that certifies homes to be more durable and energy efficient and the Renewable Energy Program that offers cash-back rewards for the installation of renewable energy systems in homes. Meanwhile in the business programs, there are three: the Renewable Energy Competitive Incentive Program that provides incentives for renewable energy systems installed in business establishments, the Retro-commissioning Program that helps in optimizing performance and operation in businesses and the Small Business Program that provides easy, affordable options for business establishments to make a long-term energy-saving improvements.

 

Brockville Solar Project Commences

Work has started on a 10-megawatt Brockville Solar Project in Leeds County, Ontario. The solar project is expected to begin its operation in 2013 and can power about 1,700 homes annually. This is International Power Canada’s  first solar project. The company already operates 363-megawatts of wind power and 112-megawatts of natural-gas.

 

Largest Wind-Powered Facility To Be Built in Argentina

A 1,350-megawatts of wind turbines are to be installed in the Chubut province in Argentina. Once completed, this wind-powered facility is expected to be Latin America’s biggest. The $3 billion financing for this renewable energy project will be from China Development Bank Corp.

 

$14 Million Awarded in 22 U.S. States For Energy Efficiency Programs

The State Energy Program of the Energy Department has awarded $14 million to state-led energy efficiency projects in 22 states namely: Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, California, Hawaii, Illinois, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Rhode Island, Virginia, Washington, and Wisconsin. The awarded funds will be used to conduct energy efficiency upgrades to public facilities as well as develop local policies and programs promoting energy efficiency and renewable energy.

 

Project EDEN for Electric Cars in Israel

Electric Vehicle Evolution has partnered with Energiz Renewable Inc. to provide luxurious Electronic Vehicles in Israel.  In the near future, the companies are also planning to expand the distribution for electric vehicles worldwide . Currently,only mid-level electric vehicles are being offered to Israeli consumers. But with this new partnership, expect affordable yet luxurious electric cars to hit the Israeli market. The project will be called Project EDEN; Economically Driven, Environmentally Necessary. High efficiency solar panels will be used in the electric vehicle. There would also be a clean energy recharging system.
